When you have bees inside or outside your home, they are not only annoying but can also be dangerous. With one or two bees, you can ignore them if they are outside but if you suddenly have a bee infestation you will need to know how to effectively get rid of them. Bee infestations can happen inside or outside your home. One thing to note is that not all bees are harmful and aggressive. If you do not bother them, they will not bother you.
Here are some of the different types of bees to help you decide if you need to do a bee removal or just leave them alone.
• Bumble bees-these are bigger than other bees and have the characteristic fuzzy abdomen. They can usually been seen buzzing around your plants in the spring and summer. They are generally calm and not aggressive. The bumble bee is very important for pollination so it is best to not try to do a bee removal.
• Carpenter bees-this bee that you should be concerned about. They do look similar to a bumble bee so it is easy to confuse them. The difference between the two is that they have a smooth abdomen. They do not sting humans but are harmful to wood. This bee makes holes in the wood.
• Yellow jacket wasps-yes, this is a bee and it is very aggressive. It will sting a person just because it wants to, not because it was provoked. You can easily identify them because of their yellow and black body. They can be a nuisance so you need to do remove them if there is an infestation. To do it safely and effectively you should contact a bee exterminator.
• Honey bees-everyone knows that this is an important bee and one that you do not want to get rid of. They are what provide you with the honey people eat. They do not sting and are considered gentle bees. They just pollinate and make honey out of the nectar.
Inside your home, bees like to make their hives in spaces between walls and other structures like your attic. If you have noticed bees in the home and then they disappear start to look for the nest. If you see a bee inside or outside your home try to find out where they are going and you will most likely find the hive or nest. If there is a bee infestation inside or outside your home, you can try to get rid of them yourself or call a bee exterminator. If they are outside your home, it is best to leave them alone or call a bee exterminator.
